A Blue Line Metro service has been suspended between Pentagon and Foggy Bottom stations Wednesday morning after a train partially derailed Tuesday evening at Arlington National Cemetery.
Hundreds of passengers were evacuated to the Arlington Cemetery station by walking along the train tracks after the train partially derailed near Arlington Cemetery on Tuesday.
One person was reportedly hospitalized, but no serious injuries were reported.
Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WTMA) advises riders on Wednesday to use Blue Line service to L’Enfant Plaza in Washington D.C., transfer to Orange/Silver for continuing service.
WTMA is providing free shuttle bus service between the Rosslyn, Arlington Cemetery, and Pentagon stations on Wednesday to allow police to continue investigating the cause of Tuesday’s derailment, the metro said.
The blue line is only running between the Franconia-Springfield and the Mount Vernon Square stations.
