Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said in a statement that he can confirm a number of U.S. service members were killed in Thursday’s complex attack at Kabul airport.
A number of others are being treated for wounds, he added.
He said Pentagon also know that a number of Afghans fell victim to this heinous attack.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the loved ones and teammates of all those killed and injured,” Kirby said in the press statement and also posted on his tweeter handle.
He didn’t provide a number of victims in the statement.
Around 60 patients wounded in airport attack have arrived at Kabul Surgical Centre, a health care center in Kabul tweeted.
There have been no reported UK military or UK Government casualties following the incidents in Kabul, the UK Ministry of Defense said in a tweet.
UK forces are working closely with our partners to provide security and medical assistance, it added.
The second explosion was reported outside Kabul airport at or near the Baron Hotel, Pentagon earlier confirmed.
The first and second explosions killed above 20 people and wounded another 50, Asvaka news, a local media reported via Twitter, but official data is yet to come.
The exact number of victims is not clear, and officials have not said who is behind the attack.

Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said the US forces are responsible in the area for the security and condemned the bombing of civilians at Kabul airport. Mujahid said the Taliban is paying close attention to the security and protection of its people and will protect them from evil circles.
