The ongoing prohibition order is extended one more week, as per the decision made today by a meeting of Chief District Officers of the three districts in the Kathmandu Valley.

Considering the surge in COVID-19 cases, the CDOs have decided to mobilize their own team and security officials to ensure the effective implementation of public health standards, officials said.

The current prohibitory order bans all kinds of gatherings, conventions, party palaces, cinema halls, restaurants, dance bars, rehearsals, and other crowded places.

Apart from drug and health care shops, other shops and businesses will be allowed to operate only till 7 pm. The order also states that restaurant and fast food, online ordering, and take away services will be available only till 7 pm.

Nepal on Tuesday reported 2,448 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours bringing a nationwide cumulative total of 702,097, as per the Ministry of Health and Population’s records.
