A shooting occurred Saturday at a residential pool party in Carson, near Los Angeles. Eight people were injured in the shooting at the bridge party. Two of the victims were seriously injured. Carson is 17 km away from Los Angeles.
A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said a suspect is at large in connection with a midnight shooting at a home in the 1500 block of East Abila Street. He said that the ages of the injured victims were between 16 and 29 years old.
As informed by the police officers in a press conference on Saturday afternoon, the condition of six victims is stable, one of whom has been discharged from the hospital. Two of the injured are in critical condition but are expected to recover.
They were taken to area hospitals, where two of them were in critical condition and underwent surgery, officials said.
Neighbors say at least 50 teenagers were attending a pool party at the end of the cul-de-sac off Martin Street.
The 16-year-old girl, who was shot in the arm, told the media that there was a big fight in the middle of the street outside the party. When she went inside, gun shots rang out and people started running away, she said.
