An Afghan citizen killed 10 people with a knife in a clash in southeastern Iran on Sunday, local media reported. He was arrested by the police as he attempted to leave the province in the evening, the outlets added.

Rahman Jalali, deputy governor of Iran’s southeastern Kerman Province, told state media that the unidentified man was arrested on suspicion of killing ten people on August 7 over “personal differences.”

Jalali said eight people were wounded in the attack.

All the victims of the incident are men. Six of them are Afghan and four are Iranian citizens. According to outlets, the attacker’s mental health was abnormal. He was found to have hit himself. Drug addiction has also been confirmed in the murderer. Further investigation is ongoing in this regard.
